Looking for Tuscany apartments with mind blowing views and a unique history? Then look no further than La Casa degli Archi, three-bedroomed Tuscany apartments in the historic Etruscan town of Pitigliano.
Set into the side of a rocky tufa cliff, refurbished La Casa degli Archi has a certain cave-like quality which only adds to its charm. Originally an ancient storehouse its name means ‘The House of the Arches’ for its huge arched windows lending sweeping views over the Tuscan countryside. Not surprisingly spectacular sunsets keep guests spellbound when they stay here! Many original features have been kept to add character and interest but there’s nothing medieval about the fixtures and fittings which are all of a high standard.
Spacious and comfortable, La Casa degli Archi has two double rooms named The Alley Room and The Thinkers Room, and another smaller room with bunk beds called The Pupi Room, which is perfect for children. One of the two bathrooms has a Jacuzzi bath, while the other has a three metre in-wall shower. The double rooms retain their privacy as each are set on a different floor, one is on the first floor near the entrance and the other is upstairs at the end of a carved tunnel.
Personal Chef Service
Further privacy is determined by the layout since there is also a split level lounge, dining room and kitchen. Don’t worry, cooking is optional when you stay at these Tuscany apartments, though the kitchen is fully equipped. Those who don’t like the thought of standing over a stove may well appreciate the personal chef service on offer. A chef will come to the apartment and prepare you traditional Tuscan lunches or dinners using fresh locally sourced ingredients. If you want an impromptu cooking lesson you’re welcome to stick around and help chop, or you can just relax and pretend you’re at a restaurant in the comfort of your own surroundings!
History, Hot Springs & Activities
Although you may just want to gaze out the windows for the first few days at the stunning vistas and sunsets on offer, there’s plenty to see and do whilst you’re at La Casa degli Archi. Pitigliano offers a fascinating glimpse into a medieval hill top town which still retains its ancient streets, piazzas and customs. For those interested in Etruscan history the surrounding countryside is dotted with archaeological remains and ancient dwellings. The Maremma area is well known for its hot springs so there are many Day Spas on offer where you can pamper yourself with a beauty treatment, massages or relaxing soak in the hot pools. Further attractions to check out include horse riding, fishing, cooking courses and wine tours.
